Internet Committee 

The MA World Services Internet Committee supports the development and maintenance of all MA World Services websites and the MA App. We invite all tech savvy members to participate in this committee to lend their expertise. All district webmasters are also welcome to join in order to give or get support. 

  • Responsible for managing World Services’ internet properties including websites, mobile app(s), and database of worldwide meetings.
  • Proactively develops new ways to use information technology and enhance MA’s online presence to carry the message to the addict who still suffers.
  • Maintains the MA World Services Meeting Finder listings
  • Management and development of the websites and the MA App
  • Works in Collaboration with volunteers, other Trustees, and Special Workers to:
    • Ensure that Internet Service Providers, e.g. hosting, payment processing, and code repositories are a competitive value.
  • Meets the Second Monday of the Month at 5:30 pm ET / 8:30 pm PT
  • Current Goals:
    • Implement meeting additions and update requests for the Meeting Finder within 6 days of request forms being submitted 
    • Continue to provide feature enhancements to the MA App
    • Continue the enhancement and redevelopment of website content and visuals in collaboration with the Website Redesign Subcommittee (see more below)

As a subcommittee of both the Public Information and the Internet Committees, the Website Redesign Subcommittee focuses on:

  • Increasing the visuals throughout the website, curating the content in a way that utilizes storytelling, and facilitating a user’s journey that invites them to learn more about MA
  • Continue to simplify navigation and page structure, ensuring accessibility standards are maintained
  • Ensuring accessibility standards are met throughout the MA websites
  • Boost keyword usability by optimizing organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) keywords or phrases with intent for future members looking for recovery online
